Barbra Streisand is celebrating 26 years of marriage with her beloved husband in the beautiful home where they solidified their relationship. Interestingly, it took 11 years for the iconic entertainer to purchase her dream home, which has housed many memories for the happy couple.
Legendary powerhouse performer Barbara Streisand, 82, and her iconic actor husband of 26 years, James Brolin, 83, have been living in the same house with their dogs for many years. However, the journey to buying the home was not easy. The couple had to work hard to get to where they wanted to be.

Streisand saw the home for the first time when she was living nearby. However, she could not buy it because her boyfriend at the time didn’t like it. Another factor prohibiting her from making the purchase was the fact that she was unable to afford the house at the time.

Now, the couple lives in Streisand’s dream home. This is the same home that saw them recently celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary on July 1. Taking to Instagram to mark the momentous milestone, Streisand posted an endearing photo of the two posing for a picture in a side embrace.
“28 years today since we met honey… and 26 years today since we married! Love you. B 
,” penned the “Funny Girl” star in her caption.
Brolin and Streisand live in their house with their adorable Maltese poodles, which they are enamored with. Streisand has even shared photos of the dogs on their birthdays on her Instagram page. There are three dogs, Scarlet, Violet, and Fanny.

The first time that Streisand saw the home was in 1984 when she lived on a ranch down the road most weekends. She mentioned that she never really enjoyed that house and so, her real estate broker introduced her to a place near the ocean.

Streisand admitted that the house’s facade was not grand because it was a modern gray and looked like some sort of “contraption.” However, when she entered the home, she found that it had a “rustic charm.”

The Broadway star immediately fell in love with the house and wanted to purchase it. Unfortunately, this was not in the cards for her yet, and she had to wait many more years before she could finally call the house home.
At that point, Streisand owned the ranch that she had been staying on, and her manager told her that until she sold the ranch, she would not be able to afford the home she had fallen in love with.
She also admitted that her boyfriend at the time thought the home she loved was too close to the cliff on which the house was situated. Streisand decided that she wouldn’t buy it but confessed, “I was so forlorn when I found out that it was sold to someone else, and they had started renovating it.”

Streisand’s love for the home did not fade with time. In fact, she never stopped thinking about her dream house that she could not purchase for herself. She divulged that she felt deeply about the house.

Although, at the time, she did not buy the home, Streisand still lived on the nearby ranch and often saw the place. She also said that the couple who owned the property knew how much she loved it.
Talking about what she did after finding out that the home had been sold, she admitted, “I would climb over the fence and walk around to see what they were doing and pine, literally pine for this house I didn’t buy.”
However, some years later, her luck turned around when the couple who owned the house kept her in mind as they got ready to move.
She even bought a house one house away from her beloved home just because they were close together. Streisand then made friends with the old couple that had the house between the one she wanted and the one she owned.
She revealed that when the old couple moved away, she bought their house with the thought that she would knock both homes down and build one big house for herself on the two-acre property.
Lo and behold, fate finally smiled upon her. The couple in the house that she wanted got divorced and reduced the price of the home, which meant that Streisand could finally afford to purchase the property for herself and finally call it home in 1995. She said she was grateful for the house because she did not have to build it or fuss over small details.
The House Is Picture Perfect
Streisand may have waited a long time for her home, but she has made her life in that home beautiful since she moved in almost 30 years ago. She said the house paid homage to craftsmanship.

For the first few years, Streisand lived in the home with her husband, Brolin, and their dog at the time, Samantha. Unfortunately, Samantha has since passed away but left Streisand with two sweet pups.

The home sits on a large land adorned with lush green lawns. An aerial shot of the house reveals the spacious garden and the pool at the front of the mansion, facing the ocean. The driveway is at the back of the house.
To help her design the interior of her home, Streisand studied many books and drew inspiration from things she had seen while traveling that were appealing to her. She also mentioned that she loved doing it.

The actress said that designing the interior was like making a film; she had a dream and a vision for the house. She could see what would look good in her head and translated that into the space, and confirmed she was happy with the results.

Streisand’s home sits on three acres of property and consists of four buildings. The mill house, the barn, Grandma’s house, and the house that Streisand and Brolin live in are all on her property.

She then added streams into the landscape because she finds water to be a soothing element. Her reason for wanting a barn was simple; she finds them to be a staple of American culture. Interestingly, she has hens in her barn that lay green eggs.
Streisand has a fish pond filled with black and white fish outside the barn. The fish’s colors were chosen carefully because Streisand felt that the colors of the fish needed to complement the black and white trim on the barn houses.
Aside from water allowing Streisand to feel peaceful, she also has a spiritual space in her home. She finds roses ethereal and therefore finds walking through the rose garden on her property a spiritual experience.
The home has seen many happy moments in Streisand’s life and has been the longest witness to Streisand’s enduring marriage to her husband. They have been married for 26 years this year and are still going strong.
Brolin and Streisand’s Married Life
Streisand and Brolin met in 1996 when they were 54 and 56, respectively. Each of them has children from a previous marriage and blended their families. It was two years after they met that the couple got married.
They said their “I dos” on Streisand’s property. In his wedding speech, Brolin said, “Every night is a new adventure. Sleeping is a waste of time. I can’t wait to see her again in the morning.”

Although the COVID-19 pandemic was brutal for many people, and some relationships suffered because of being in quarantine, Streisand confirmed that she and Brolin were not negatively affected.
Talking about how her relationship with her husband faired during the lockdown period, Streisand said, “We’ve literally fallen in love over this period of time, just being stuck together every day and making it work.”

Even after all the years and the many trials and tribulations that the couple has faced during their time together, they are still as in love as ever and have expressed that through their social media pages. Barbra Streisand still calls Brolin the love of her life.

Now that they have reached 26 years of marriage together, with all their kids being grown and out of the house, the couple is now enjoying a new phase in their lives; being grandparents.

John Walmsley’s Life after “The Waltons”
Jon Walmsley was famously known for playing the role of John-Boy’s younger brother, Jason Walton, on the television series “The Waltons,” which premiered in 1972 and ran for nine seasons until 1981.

Since October 2019, Walmsley has been living away from the spotlight in Cornwall, Britain, after relocating from California, Living an anonymous life with her wife, Marion, the pair doesn’t have any children.
Walmsley’s parents were originally from Lancashire, Britain. They relocated to California when he was two, and he fell in love with Cornwall during a visit. Speaking about his anonymity in the quiet town, the voice of Christopher Robin for Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh” said:
“I don’t really get recognized as I changed my look a few years ago and now look quite different than on ‘The Waltons.’”

Instead of being upset that people didn’t know who he was, the successful musician shared how being anonymous was an advantage for him because he was a people-watcher. He noted how people tended to act differently around celebrities.

On his music website, Walmsley recalled how he and his wife had chosen not to go on vacation in 2018 but to move to England in the summer. By June of that year, they’d already sold their car and RV and bid their friends and neighbors in Maine goodbye.
Some of the items Walmsley took with him to England included two parakeets he inherited from his mother, who passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. The actor and Marion started a new life, bought a car, opened a bank account, and registered with the National Health Service.

The couple has since been enjoying the moors, coastal paths, historic churches, and pubs in Cornwall. According to IMDb, Walmsley retired from acting and seemed to be thriving out of the spotlight. In a 2018 Thanksgiving post on Facebook, Marion was photographed kissing her husband on the cheek, with him confessing how “thankful” he was for his wife.
A drastic change in his appearance was also evident—he was gaunter, and his full red hair was replaced by shorter grays. He was also sporting a gray beard and mustache. This was a far cry from his images in February and June 2015, when he looked more like what his fans were used to. Being out of the limelight has been good for Jon Walmsley, who celebrated a big milestone in 2023 – turning 67!
Leif Garrett- The former Teen Heartthrob
Leif Garrett, along with David and Shaun Cassidy and the Bay City Rollers, was one of the names people thought of when it came to ’70s teenage idols. The “I Was Made for Dancin’” singer earned worldwide fans for his boyish looks and pop songs.

However, in 2023, he saddened fans when they saw his look at age 61. The star was a wholesome act that was inoffensive to his mainly pre-teenage girl fans and their parents, but his adult career was doomed.
In the mid-’80s, his career was pretty much done, although Garrett went back to acting in movies that didn’t gain much traction. Sadly, he was also struggling with substance abuse and the guilt over his involvement in one of his friends, Roland Winkler, becoming paralyzed from a car accident.

Over two decades ago, Garrett was drunk and high when he drove off the Hollywood Freeway, leaving Winkler, who died in 2017, paralyzed.
On March 30, 2023, author and actress Ginger Coyote shared a Facebook photo of Garrett and revealed it was what he looked like the last time she saw him. In the image, he looked different while wearing a bandana on his head, a scarf, and a jacket.

However, besides music, Sherman also became known as the man who sacrificed his career for his children. He took work as an EMT and later became a reserve deputy sheriff. By 1970, besides producing several hit singles, he was also filming “Here Comes the Bride” and “Patridge Family.” He was so busy that he filmed five days weekly and still did evening shows on weekends, with him stating:
“It was so hectic for three years that I didn’t know what home was.”

The concerts and shows were great, but he was so disoriented from working so much that he decided to take a break. He built a studio in his garage and, over the years, recorded scores for television shows. and movies.
In the early 1970s, Sherman was living his best life with a successful career in music and film and two boys he loved dearly. The star had it all, successfully striking a balance between his career and family. Unfortunately, in 1979, his marriage to Patti Carmel ended.

More training led him to work as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and later added skills in defibrillation. He also started training other EMTs, instructing thousands of police officers in first aid and CPR.
When the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) caught wind of what he was doing, they invited him to the force’s training academy. In 1992, he became a sworn police officer with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department and the LAPD.
He became the department’s chief medical training officer and in 1999 he was named LAPD’s Reserve Officer of the Year. The singer-turned-actor-turned-EMT thought his job of saving lives was gratifying, yet it was not limited to only patching people up as he also delivered five babies in the field, an experience he described as “tremendously rewarding.”
Despite having a different career, in 1998, after a 25-year absence, fans flocked to see him in concert as part of the “The Teen Idol Tour.” There he appeared alongside Peter Noone and former Monkees TV costars Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones. He had his final show as a solo performer in Lincoln, Rhode Island, on August 25, 2001.
Nine years later, the love bug bit him again, and he married his second wife, Brigitte Poublon, on July 18, 2010, in Las Vegas. With Poublon, Sherman founded the Bobby Sherman Volunteer EMT Foundation, based in Southern California.
Although he chose a different career path, the star remains grateful for the fans who adored him and allowed him the long-reigning title of “teen idol.” The star shared how he chose to give himself a break to do the things he wished:

Streisand saw the home for the first time when she was living nearby. However, she could not buy it because her boyfriend at the time didn’t like it. Another factor prohibiting her from making the purchase was the fact that she was unable to afford the house at the time.

Now, the couple lives in Streisand’s dream home. This is the same home that saw them recently celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary on July 1. Taking to Instagram to mark the momentous milestone, Streisand posted an endearing photo of the two posing for a picture in a side embrace.
“28 years today since we met honey… and 26 years today since we married! Love you. B ,” penned the “Funny Girl” star in her caption.

Streisand admitted that the house’s facade was not grand because it was a modern gray and looked like some sort of “contraption.” However, when she entered the home, she found that it had a “rustic charm.”

The Broadway star immediately fell in love with the house and wanted to purchase it. Unfortunately, this was not in the cards for her yet, and she had to wait many more years before she could finally call the house home.
At that point, Streisand owned the ranch that she had been staying on, and her manager told her that until she sold the ranch, she would not be able to afford the home she had fallen in love with.
She also admitted that her boyfriend at the time thought the home she loved was too close to the cliff on which the house was situated. Streisand decided that she wouldn’t buy it but confessed, “I was so forlorn when I found out that it was sold to someone else, and they had started renovating it.”

Streisand’s love for the home did not fade with time. In fact, she never stopped thinking about her dream house that she could not purchase for herself. She divulged that she felt deeply about the house.

Although, at the time, she did not buy the home, Streisand still lived on the nearby ranch and often saw the place. She also said that the couple who owned the property knew how much she loved it.
Talking about what she did after finding out that the home had been sold, she admitted, “I would climb over the fence and walk around to see what they were doing and pine, literally pine for this house I didn’t buy.”
However, some years later, her luck turned around when the couple who owned the house kept her in mind as they got ready to move.
She even bought a house one house away from her beloved home just because they were close together. Streisand then made friends with the old couple that had the house between the one she wanted and the one she owned.
She revealed that when the old couple moved away, she bought their house with the thought that she would knock both homes down and build one big house for herself on the two-acre property.
Lo and behold, fate finally smiled upon her. The couple in the house that she wanted got divorced and reduced the price of the home, which meant that Streisand could finally afford to purchase the property for herself and finally call it home in 1995. She said she was grateful for the house because she did not have to build it or fuss over small details.
The House Is Picture Perfect
Streisand may have waited a long time for her home, but she has made her life in that home beautiful since she moved in almost 30 years ago. She said the house paid homage to craftsmanship.

Streisand’s home sits on three acres of property and consists of four buildings. The mill house, the barn, Grandma’s house, and the house that Streisand and Brolin live in are all on her property.

She then added streams into the landscape because she finds water to be a soothing element. Her reason for wanting a barn was simple; she finds them to be a staple of American culture. Interestingly, she has hens in her barn that lay green eggs.
Streisand has a fish pond filled with black and white fish outside the barn. The fish’s colors were chosen carefully because Streisand felt that the colors of the fish needed to complement the black and white trim on the barn houses.
Aside from water allowing Streisand to feel peaceful, she also has a spiritual space in her home. She finds roses ethereal and therefore finds walking through the rose garden on her property a spiritual experience.
The home has seen many happy moments in Streisand’s life and has been the longest witness to Streisand’s enduring marriage to her husband. They have been married for 26 years this year and are still going strong.
Brolin and Streisand’s Married Life
Streisand and Brolin met in 1996 when they were 54 and 56, respectively. Each of them has children from a previous marriage and blended their families. It was two years after they met that the couple got married.
They said their “I dos” on Streisand’s property. In his wedding speech, Brolin said, “Every night is a new adventure. Sleeping is a waste of time. I can’t wait to see her again in the morning.”

Although the COVID-19 pandemic was brutal for many people, and some relationships suffered because of being in quarantine, Streisand confirmed that she and Brolin were not negatively affected.

When I went out of my way to get one of the best seats on my flight, I didn’t expect to be swindled out of it by a manipulative couple. But what they didn’t know was that they messed with the wrong person, and in the end, I was the victor!
As soon as I settled into my aisle seat, feeling quite pleased with the extra legroom I had carefully selected for this long flight, I noticed a couple approaching. The woman who approached me was in her late thirties, dressed in a designer outfit that screamed wealth. But her expression was anything but pleasant. Her husband, tall and broad-shouldered, walked slightly behind her with an air of arrogance that matched her demeanor.
They stopped right next to me, and the woman’s eyes zeroed in on my seat. Without so much as a polite greeting and while exuding entitlement, she rudely demanded, “You need to switch seats with me. I accidentally booked the wrong seat, and I refuse to sit away from my husband.”

I blinked, taken aback by her tone. She spoke as if her mistake was somehow MY problem to fix! I glanced at her boarding pass, which confirmed my suspicion. It was a middle seat in row 12, not even close to the premium one I had chosen!
When I didn’t immediately comply, the woman rolled her eyes dramatically.
“Come on, it’s just a seat. YOU don’t need all that space,” she scoffed dismissively at my hesitation, her tone dripping with condescension.

Her husband, standing behind her with his arms crossed, smirked as he added, “Yeah, be reasonable. We need to sit together, and you don’t really need to be up here, do you?”
The audacity of their request left me momentarily speechless. They were clearly arrogant and hadn’t even bothered to ask nicely. They just assumed I would give in to their demands. I could feel the other passengers’ eyes on us, some curious, others sympathetic.
I took a deep breath, weighing my options. A confrontation wasn’t something I wanted to deal with, especially not at the start of a six-hour flight.

“Alright,” I said with as much calm as I could muster. Standing up, I handed over my boarding pass while trying hard to hide my irritation. “Enjoy the seat,” I told them without meaning it.
The woman snatched the ticket from my hand with a satisfied smirk. She muttered something under her breath about people in premium seats being “So selfish.” Her husband supported her by saying, “Someone like her doesn’t even need it.”

As I made my way toward the back of the plane, where her assigned seat was, I could feel my blood boiling. But I wasn’t one to make a scene. I had a better idea. Just as I approached row 12, a flight attendant, who had been watching the whole exchange, intercepted me.
She leaned in, her voice low as she whispered, “MA’AM, YOU DO REALIZE THIS WAS A SCAM, RIGHT? THEY TRICKED YOU OUT OF YOUR BETTER SEAT! THEY’RE BOTH MEANT TO BE IN ROW 12!”
I smiled at her, the anger simmering down to a cool resolve. “I know. But I’m about to turn the tables.”

“I actually have a little trick up MY sleeve. Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” I said as I winked.
The flight attendant raised an eyebrow, but she didn’t press further as she quickly put two and two together and tried stifling a laugh. She directed me to my new seat. So, as soon as I reached my middle seat and sat down, I started forming my plan.
The premium seat had been booked using my frequent flyer miles, and with that came certain privileges that most passengers wouldn’t be aware of. I knew exactly what to do to teach those two bullies a lesson they’d never forget…

My middle seat in row 12 wasn’t close to being as comfortable as the premium one I had given up, but I knew it would all be worth it. I allowed the mean couple to enjoy the seat and think they’d won.
About an hour into the flight, when the cabin had settled into a comfortable hum of quiet conversations and the occasional clink of glasses, I signaled for the flight attendant who had spoken to me earlier. She approached, and I asked to speak with the chief purser.

She nodded with a knowing smile and disappeared, returning moments later with a woman who exuded authority.
“Good afternoon, ma’am. I understand there was an issue with your seating,” the chief purser said, her voice professional but warm.
I explained my situation calmly, emphasizing how I had been moved from my premium seat due to the couple’s deception. The purser listened carefully, her expression serious.
When I finished, she nodded and said, “I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Please give me a moment.”

I noticed a few passengers paying close attention to what was happening. They must have figured that I was retaliating in some way and didn’t want to miss anything. They hilariously kept throwing glances in my direction and at the departing purser.
When the head stewardess walked away, she left me wondering what my next move should be. A few minutes later, she returned, but instead of an apology, she offered me a choice.

“Ma’am, you have two options. You can either return to your original seat, or we can compensate you for the inconvenience with a significant amount of airline miles, equal to upgrades on your next three flights.”
I pretended to consider it, but I already knew what I wanted. “I’ll take the miles,” I said, smiling inwardly at the thought of the extra benefits this would bring. I knew fully well that the miles were worth far more than the price difference between premium and economy on this flight.

The purser smiled and made a note on her tablet. “It’s done. And as a token of goodwill, we’ve upgraded your next flight to first class.”
“Thank you,” I replied, genuinely pleased. As she walked away, I settled back into my seat, a sense of satisfaction washing over me. I knew the couple up front had no idea what was coming.
The flight continued without incident until we began our descent. That’s when I noticed a flurry of activity around row 3, where the couple sat. The chief purser, accompanied by another flight attendant had made their way to them, their expressions serious.

“Excuse me, Mr. Williams and MISS Broadbent,” the purser began, her tone no longer friendly. She pronounced the woman’s title with emphasis, making it clear to all aboard that the couple weren’t even married!
“We need to address an issue with your seats,” she continued looking quite stern.
Broadbent’s smile faltered, and Williams looked genuinely puzzled.
“What do you mean?” she asked, her voice tinged with irritation.

The purser glanced at her tablet before continuing. “We’ve been informed that you manipulated another passenger into switching seats with you, which is a violation of our airline’s policy. This is a serious offense.”
The color drained from the woman’s face, and she stammered, “But… but we didn’t do anything wrong! We just asked to switch seats!”
“Unfortunately,” the purser interrupted, “we have clear reports of your behavior. Upon landing, you’ll need to go with security for further questioning.”

All the passengers had wide eyes as they absorbed all the drama!
“Also, lying about being married when you are not to manipulate other passengers, is problematic in its own way. Additionally, due to this breach, you will be placed on our airline’s no-fly list pending an investigation,” the purser continued.
Williams opened his mouth to protest, but no words came out. The flight attendants, already poised to act, ushered them out of their seats and toward the back of the plane. As they were escorted, Broadbent felt the need to defend herself.

“I might not be his wife now, but I will be in a few months! He is going to divorce his wife to be with me!” she yelled frantically.
A collective shock settled among all of us as we realized the two were having an affair!
The crew took them where they would be the first to be escorted off by airport security.
As I gathered my belongings after landing, I couldn’t resist glancing at the couple one last time. Their smug expressions were gone, replaced by a mix of anger and humiliation.

They had lost more than just a seat as they were now facing consequences that would follow them long after this flight. Walking through the airport, I couldn’t help but smile to myself.
In my 33 years of life, I’ve realized that sometimes, getting even isn’t about making a big spectacle to get your way; it’s about patiently watching those who think they’ve won realize just how badly they’ve lost!

Before this actor died, he welcomed one child who would later become the sole beneficiary of his wealth. Luckily, the child had a good support system after losing her father, with one special person stepping in to walk her down the aisle when she got married.
This late actor’s life did not begin at 40; it ended with his untimely death on November 30, 2013. Although it’s been more than a decade since the tragedy, his longtime friend and fellow actor has cared for his daughter, allowing his family to grow. Here’s what transpired during those years.

The late star first charmed the world with his blue eyes, infectious smile, and impeccable acting skills in “The Young and the Restless” and the comedy-drama, “Varsity Blues,” before gaining international recognition in the first film from the “Fast and Furious” franchise.
Over the years, with more installments of the box office hit and appearances in other movies, he became even more famous. Yet, success did not make him selfish.

The actor was noted for his philanthropy. For example, in 2010, following the earthquake in Haiti, he founded “Reach Out Worldwide,” a disaster relief charity. Three years later, his organization was helping another set of disaster victims in the Philippines.
He assisted them through a charity event, and afterward, he happily strolled out of the venue, a car shop in Santa Clarita, California, but never returned.

How the Little Girl Lost Her Famous Father but Became a Millionaire
Unfortunately, while riding in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in 2013 with his friend Roger Rodas, who was behind the wheel, the vehicle burst into flames after running into a curb, a light post, and trees. Describing the gruesome incident, Antonio Holmes, a close friend of the actor who saw the scene, shared, “Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers.”

Another eyewitness, Jim Thorp, also a friend, told reporters that before the accident, the actor was excited about going for a drive, and his last words were, “Hey, let’s go for a drive.” Jim added, “He lived his life and he died fast and furious… He loved speed, he loved cars, and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend.”

Sadly, the late star died at age 40, before the seventh “Fast and Furious” installment was completed. But, he is survived by his only child, who was 15 at the time, his siblings, and his co-stars who carried on his legacy, giving him a happy ending in the film.
The movie’s director, James Wan, looked forward to giving the late actor’s character, Brian O’Conner, a proper send-off. Thankfully, with a great storyline, the use of CGI, and the help of his brothers, Caleb and Cody, who stood in for him, fans were able to memorialize their beloved star.
Following the announcement of his death, reports claimed the actor left the entirety of his assets, worth $25 million, to his only child and daughter. His decision to leave everything to her caused conflict among his other relatives.
It even severed the relationship between his daughter, her uncles, and her grandmother. The “The Young and the Restless” star wrote his will in 2001, at age 28, when he found international fame in the first “Fast and Furious” film.
While the will may have saved his family from fighting over his estate, it did not make provisions for his then-partner of seven years, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell. Despite the surprise over his will, his family acknowledged that the actor treasured his daughter, and they shared a close bond before his death.
A 2018 documentary with his name and done in his honor showed his family confirming that his daughter was his favorite person. In a clip, her grandfather revealed, “No father loved a child more than he did [daughter’s name].” Years later, the star’s only child found her calling and got married.
His Daughter Became a Model and Married
Unfortunately, the actor did not live long enough to watch his daughter blossom into a beautiful woman. She grew into a confident young lady, but unlike her dad, she is passionate about fashion.
During the 2021 Paris Fashion Week, she made her first appearance on the runway as a Givenchy model. Before, she had been featured in the Proenza Schouler lookbook after signing with DNA Model Management.
